Ospreys at Castle Douglas / Threave castle

This photo of an osprey on its nest near Threave castle/ Castle Douglas was taken last summer. The male osprey usually arrives first just at the end of March and then the female soon after/ beginning of April. This year I hope to get some photos/ video of the ospreys as soon as they arrive.

Since 2006 there has been a footpath out to Threave along an old railway line. There is now an osprey viewing platform near to Threave castle.
